What is Reiki?
a gentle healing + stress reduction technique
Reiki is energy work.
Here’s the science: Reiki promotes healing by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, while the brain enters theta and alpha wave states. This level of deep relaxation is a space that allows the body to balance and repair itself.
What can I expect?
-
Reiki moves and releases energetic blocks or emotions held in your subtle body.
Over time, it can significantly decrease your allostatic load (the cumulative burden of chronic stress and life events). It is safe, gentle, and has no contraindications.
There are a wide variety of experiences, and it can feel different each time. Some people note going into a very deep state of relaxation, while others experience sensations, visions or emotions. Clarity of thought and positive breakthroughs are often reported. Some experience relief from physical and emotional pain.
Ultimately, Reiki provides you with what’s needed most in the present moment.

Your session will start with a conversation about what you’ve been experiencing on a mental, physical, and spiritual level. You are invited to share any intentions for the session. Then, you’ll rest fully clothed on a massage table. I'll intuitively use tools like music, aromatherapy, crystals, and guided breathing to help ease you into a relaxed state.
I’ll lightly place my hands in various positions on or above the body - this is how the Reiki is channeled to you.
When it’s time to land, I'll gently guide you "back" and we’ll reflect on anything that came up for you during the session.
-
As a rough translation, Rei = Universal, Ki = Life Force Energy.
We can trace Reiki’s roots back to ancient Japanese culture, but the most prominent style was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It was further developed by Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, a naval physician who used Reiki as a complementary therapy on his patients. Ms. Hawayo Takata studied Reiki under Dr. Hayashi, and brought Reiki to the West in the mid-20th century. -
“I left my session with Mollie feeling incredibly relaxed, peaceful, and with a newfound awareness of unknown tensions held in my body. Mollie has an intuitive, healing nature that was felt as soon as I entered her calming space. I requested a session with touch which I would highly recommend. I had such an unexpectedly revitalizing yet tender experience. If you have the opportunity to book an appointment, I'd jump at the chance. Thank you so much, Mollie!” - Clare M.

Book a Session
I practice in-person by appointment, and virtually via Zoom (distance Reiki is just as powerful!). Please message me to book. Sessions are an hour in length.
In each session, 15-20 minutes are reserved for discussion and integration.
Sessions can include somatic awareness, embodiment practices, coaching, sound healing, and other tools.
It’s an honor to share this work with you!
Just for today, let go of worry. Just for today, let go of anger. Just for today, be grateful. Just for today, work honestly. Just for today, be kind to every living thing.
